Moroccan Police Crack Down on High-Tech Exam Cheating Devices

The General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) is working to put an end to the clandestine sale of new tools and devices used by cheating students during exams. In its sights, the old flea market of Derb Ghallef.
No truce in the fight against exam fraud. In Derb Ghallef, the DGSN elements would have placed under surveillance several distribution channels for the new devices and technological instruments imported from China. These technological communication vectors allow students to cheat without being caught by the supervisory authorities during the exams. This measure follows the information that reached the DGSN.
In order to sell their products, many merchants "charge young people to contact students and keep them informed of the latest innovations in the field, in return for commissions they give them on each sale," says Assabah. Prices range from 1,500 to 3,000 DH. These clandestine sales escape DGSN controls.
