Moroccan PJD Official Sentenced to 4 Years for Islamic State Ties

A local councilor of the rural commune of Sidi Boumoussa near Taroudant was sentenced to four years in prison for his ties to the Islamic State. This is the decision of the criminal chamber of the first instance court in charge of terrorism cases near the annex of the court of appeal of Salé.

The investigating judge of the criminal chamber in charge of terrorism cases handed down this verdict after elements confirmed the ties of local councilor B. F., a member of the Justice and Development Party (PJD), with Daesh, reports Alyaoum24.

Last March, elements of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) had arrested a local councilor and a young merchant in the commune of Sidi Boumoussa, near Taroudant. They are both suspected of having communicated with Daesh through the terrorist organization’s Facebook pages.

After their arrest, the two accused were transferred to the BCIJ headquarters in Salé. They were then placed in pre-trial detention before being brought before the prosecutor.
