Moroccan PhD Students Protest Government’s Refusal to Integrate Them into Civil Service

Faced with the government’s deaf ear on the issue of their integration into the civil service, doctoral students are determined to go all the way. They announce demonstrations on October 13 and 14.
During these two days, the doctoral students plan, they say, to reveal the flaws of the government that is reluctant to engage in any dialogue. They also intend to denounce the continued opening of positions only to civil servants. Unanimously, they have denounced this act described as "immoral" which discredits the status of scientific research in the Kingdom.
For Youssef Balait, quoted by Hespress, the government continues to remain deaf to their demand for dialogue. He has also called on the Executive to negotiate with the demonstrators and to avoid being forced to take the path of escalation on the ground, the consequences of which will be disastrous. This situation could worsen if the commitments made are not respected, he warns.
