Moroccan Party Leader Calls for Ministers’ Resignation Over Social Security Scandal

The Secretary General of the Party of Authenticity and Modernity (PAM), Abdellatif Ouahbi, is demanding the resignation of two ministers who "forgot" to declare their employees to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS). They are Mohamed Amekraz, Minister of Employment and Professional Integration, and Mustapha Ramid, Minister of State in charge of Human Rights and Relations with Parliament.
"Non-declaration to the CNSS constitutes tax evasion and misappropriation of public funds," Abdellatif Ouahbi told Hespress, who has "demanded" the resignation of the two ministers.
"Social security contributions are not paid to individuals, but to public institutions... Not declaring one’s staff to the CNSS is not theft in itself, but can be equated to the misappropriation of funds from a public institution," adds Abdellatif Ouahbi, who cannot conceive that ministers continue to occupy their positions when they have, according to him, committed two offenses, namely "tax evasion and misappropriation of public funds".
The PAM group in parliament has addressed questions to the government on this subject, Ouahbi also points out, who believes that "the politician must remain responsible to the end and be punished if he commits offenses".
