Moroccan Parliament Installs Solar Panels, Aims for 100% Renewable Energy

The headquarters of the House of Representatives in Rabat is now one-third powered by solar energy. An initiative that deserves to be commended.
The ecological device installed on the premises has started with the installation of more than 670 photovoltaic solar panels that can produce 420,000 KW per year, reports Maghreb Intelligence, which specifies that the ultimate goal is to cover the entire electricity consumption of the parliament by renewable energies.
Similarly, the parliament has undertaken an increased digitization of its services, reducing its paper consumption by 90% and now opting for electronic media for its documents and data, it is reported.
To recall, this headquarters was chosen in 2017 by the UN among 10 environmentally friendly historical monuments and buildings. Nearly a century old, the building is classified as national and historical heritage.
