Moroccan Parliament Faces Scrutiny as Only 17 of 395 Deputies Attend Session

Last Thursday, truancy seems to have been preferred by most Moroccan deputies. 395 were expected, only 17 showed up. And this did not please a deputy who was there.
The website Article19 writes on this subject: "A PAM deputy, who sent us this sad image, does not hide his revolt at the "lack of civic-mindedness" and "professional conscience" of some parliamentarians whose cost averages the equivalent of $5,000 per month and per pipe. From public funds and tax-payers, of course, claims this deputy".
The latter would also have ironically stated, according to the same source, that Thursday, April 18, 2019 is not a public holiday. The photo taken is indeed as funny as can be. Then the latter stated that this is shameful. And the same photo indeed reveals a most bitter reality.
Article19 recalls that we are 20 months away from the next legislative elections and that the newly elected President of the House of Representatives, Habib el Malki, has "his work cut out for him" in order to "put an end to the bad habits of the people’s elected representatives".
