Moroccan Parliament Challenges French Court’s Ban on Arabic Classes in Rabat School

Parliament has questioned the Minister of Education about the decision of a French court to cancel additional Arabic classes in a French school in Morocco.
In accordance with a new law ratified by the Moroccan parliament, two new Arabic classes must be added to the program of the school run by the French Cultural Mission in Rabat. The new text, which was adopted following a controversy over the status of the language, calls for strengthening the teaching of Arabic to Moroccan students.
Moroccan media, rights defense associations and political parties have condemned the decision, describing it as "strange". The French court made this decision following a complaint
