Moroccan Parliament Becomes COVID-19 Hotspot with 80 Cases Reported

Nearly 80 cases of coronavirus contamination have been recorded in the Moroccan Parliament. The institution is thus becoming an epidemic hotspot.
At least 80 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the two chambers of Parliament, reports Al Akhbar, without specifying the number of deputies and parliamentary councilors affected. The legislative institution is now one of the state institutions that has recorded the highest number of coronavirus infections.
The same source reports that the secretary general of the first chamber could be infected, as he is considered a contact case. The non-compliance with preventive health measures is at the origin of this situation.
Realizing the situation, the presidents of the chambers intend to strengthen the preventive and security measures. Already, drastic measures have been taken to curb the epidemic, to limit the infection to only the declared positive staff and deputies.
Last August, three senior officials of the first chamber had been infected, which had required the implementation of a series of preventive measures.
