Moroccan Opposition Leader Demands Government Allow Leftist Party’s Congress

PSU deputy Nabila Mounib denounced the treatment inflicted on the Annahj Addimocrati Party by the government, calling on the Ministry of the Interior to "put an end to all forms of restrictions and respect its legitimate right to hold its national congress."
The parliamentarian questioned the Minister of the Interior in parliament about the measures taken to allow the Annahj Party to hold its congress, reports the site alyaoum24.com, recalling that members of this formation protested last week against the restrictions it is facing and which prevent it from holding its fifth national congress in a public hall.
This situation is "unacceptable" and constitutes "an attack on the right of organization and public freedoms guaranteed by the constitution," denounced Mounib, stressing that "the Annahj Addimocrati Party has been the subject of harassment for some time".
According to her, this contradicts the affirmation by the constitution that "the law is the supreme expression of the will of the nation. All, natural or legal persons, including the public authorities, are equal before it and bound to submit to it".
