Moroccan Officials and Gulf Entrepreneurs Fall Victim to Major Car and Real Estate Scam

An individual has scammed Moroccan personalities and nationals from Gulf countries residing in several Moroccan cities, including El Jadida, in cases of selling new cars and fictitious real estate projects. The judicial police of Salé succeeded in arresting him following several complaints and a wanted notice issued to find him.
Moroccan senior officials and entrepreneurs from the Gulf countries have been victims of a major scam, reports Assabah. The alleged fraudster posed as a new car dealer and lessor, bought on credit. His modus operandi was to use forged release certificates from a credit company. This is how he had provided forged documents to Moroccan senior officials to whom he offered these types of services. He also defrauded other victims in El Jadida.
With entrepreneurs from the Gulf countries, it was a real estate scam. The accused had offered them real estate projects that turned out to be fictitious. He also issued several bounced checks and requested loans from a credit company without repaying. After committing these offenses, the alleged fraudster disappeared from the radar. Faced with the situation, several victims filed a complaint against the accused with the Rabat security department. The legal representative of the credit company also filed a complaint against him for refusing to repay the installments and forging the release certificates.
The elements of the judicial police then set out to track him down. They discovered that the security services of Rabat, Temara and El Jadida had issued a wanted notice to find him. A trap was set for him. He was thus arrested in the Oued Eddahab district of Salé. He had left his hometown, Temara, to refurbish a cafe that will be operated during the month of Ramadan.
