Moroccan Officials Accused of Land Fraud in Kénitra Province

In the province of Kénitra, a commune president and his two deputies, as well as lawyers and civil servants, are accused of fraud and forgery in a case of spoliation of soulaliyate lands.

Involved in this case are the president of the commune of Kariat Ben Aouda, Moul Bab Bourkia, and his two deputies. The three elected officials of the Rassemblement national des indépendants (RNI) party are accused of forgery of contracts and are accused of fraud and forgery by the governor of the province of Kénitra, Fouad M’hamdi, who would have initiated a dismissal procedure against them, reports Al Akhbar.

The governor relied on a report from the general inspection of territorial administration under the Ministry of the Interior to bring these charges against the three elected officials of the commune, to whom he has sent requests for explanation on the illegal acts they are alleged to have committed. According to Article 64 of the organic law on communes, the persons concerned have a period of ten days to respond to this request for explanation.

The governor is awaiting these responses to submit the request for dismissal of the president and his two deputies to the administrative court of Rabat, sources indicate, specifying that the three officials are accused of forgery of contracts in a case of spoliation of lands belonging to soulaliyate communities (collective lands).
