New revelations have been made about the case of Lhaj Ahmed Benbrahim alias "Escobar of the Desert", the Malian imprisoned in the El Jadida prison since 2019, then transferred to the Oukacha prison.

Abdenbi Bioui, president of the Oriental Region, and also a member of the political bureau of the PAM imprisoned in the context of the "Escobar of the Desert" case, would have coordinated with a former Algerian MP the transfer of money from drug trafficking using jet skis to go to Algeria from Saïdia, reveals the site Al3Omk. To carry out this enterprise, he called on the services of a friend "F.Y., whose mission is to transport money, probably from drug trafficking, from the beach of Saïdia to the Algerian coasts by jet ski, to hand it over to the agents of a former Algerian MP named Ibrahim B.

The former elected official had the mission of transferring the proceeds of drug trafficking to France for the benefit of Abdenbi Bioui, nicknamed "the Oujdi" by his own means. In turn, Bioui transferred part of this money to the Netherlands through a third party. He also called on the services of other people in Oujda, Beni Drar and Casablanca for the transfer of money from drug trafficking.

This network would have remained active from 2006 to 2013, before and after the construction of security walls between Morocco and Algeria, to stem the smuggling of all products between the two countries. In total, 265 tons were trafficked during these two periods, for a value of 140,000 to 160,000 euros per ton, depending on the routes and distances traveled, it is specified.

During his hearing, Abdenabi Bioui repeated that he had no connection with the facts he is accused of, nor with the drug trafficker called the Malian. Belkassem Mir, a former deputy of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) in the first chamber, would also be involved in this case. He was accused of having falsified a contract for a luxury villa in Oujda, in addition to having participated in drug trafficking. A third PAM elected official cited in this case: Said Naciri, president of Wydad de Casablanca, PAM parliamentarian, and also president of the Prefectural Council of Casablanca. He is accused of having received large sums of money on his bank account. After the announcement of their appearance, these three members of the PAM were suspended by the political office of the party of the tractor.
