Moroccan Notary Flees to Spain After Alleged Multi-Million Dollar Real Estate Fraud

A notary practicing in Témara is suspected of having stolen significant sums of money belonging to clients of the Al Omrane group. She is the subject of a wanted notice after leaving Morocco for Spain.
It all started with an observation made by an Al Omrane client. She says she noticed that the notary did not transfer the money she had given her for the purchase of a property to the group’s account. The group eventually discovered the deception. It then decided to file a complaint for breach of trust and fraud. The judicial police of Rabat are conducting investigations.
The preliminary investigation reveals that the notary falsified several files by not regularizing the situation of certain real estate properties within the allotted time, which she justified by a mistake made due to lack of time, according to the daily Assabah. Subsequently, the investigators discovered that the accused had left the national territory via Mohammed V airport in Casablanca, bound for Spain. On the orders of the public prosecutor’s office, the elements of the judicial police of the wilaya of the Rabat security department issued a wanted notice against her.
During his hearing, the legal representative of the Al Omrane group declared that the notary manipulated the contracts of two clients and walked away with large sums of money under mysterious circumstances. Pending the apprehension of the fugitive, the public prosecutor’s office has requested the questioning of the plaintiffs, as well as other persons with links to the transfer of real estate.
