Moroccan Notary Arrested for $1.1 Million Fraud Scheme in Salé

Pending the opening of his trial after Eid Al-Fitr, a notary practicing in Salé has been placed in detention for breach of trust and fraud.
Accused of having disappeared with the money of twenty-four of his clients, a notary was arrested for breach of trust and fraud. The total amount of the fraud amounts to 11.24 million dirhams. After making land lot sales, his victims no longer received their check as agreed, reports Assabah. No longer seeing the notary anywhere to take possession of their money, they brought the case to justice.
The office of the king’s prosecutor near the court of first instance of Salé took over the file. The notary was then arrested. During his hearing, he said he had spent "the money of his victims to ensure the settlement of certain cases". He struggles to convince. The accused will be placed in detention, then prosecuted for breach of trust and fraud. His trial will open in a few days.
