Moroccan NGO: Algeria Holding Bodies of 7 Migrants, Including 2 Women

The Moroccan Association for Aid to Migrants in Difficult Situations indicates that Algerian authorities are holding the bodies of seven Moroccan citizens.
According to information provided by the association, these individuals reportedly died in connection with attempts at illegal emigration, either from Algerian coasts or at sea, before their bodies were found on the Algerian coastline.
Two young women, from the eastern region of Morocco, are among these seven deceased persons, the association reports, adding that the concerned families have completed the legal procedures necessary for the repatriation of the bodies.
These families are currently waiting for the effective return of the bodies by the Algerian authorities, requesting that the related judicial, administrative, and technical procedures be facilitated to allow them to recover the bodies of their loved ones.
The association says it is following more than 500 cases related to Moroccan candidates for illegal emigration in Algeria (including missing persons, imprisoned, or deceased whose bodies are being held).
