Moroccan Newspaper Director Faces Allegations of Workplace Misconduct

A member of the "Attanouir" Association has accused Al Ahdat Al Maghribia journalists of having had extramarital affairs between colleagues in the same editorial staff.
A well-founded or unfounded accusation? It all started uncontrollably on Thursday, August 22, 2019. A member of the "Attanouir" Association published a controversial post on social media. He declared that the director of Al Ahdat Al Maghribia, Mokhtar Laghzioui, would have had, in his office, extramarital affairs with female journalists working for the same media, reports Le360.ma.
According to the same source, it would be a case fabricated for two reasons. The first, the member of the "Attanouir" Association had the intention of playing the Islamists, an allusion to a remake of the story of the director of a publication that had made headlines in February 2018, recalls the same source. The second, the man is driven by the manifest desire to harm the reputation of the journalists of Al Ahdat Al Maghribia. At issue, a recent critical article by Zoukaïa Ben Zine on some of the actions of the "Attanouir" Association.
In the wake of this, the National Union of the Moroccan Press (SNPPM) issued a statement to express its solidarity with the three journalists concerned. It also said it had solicited the services of a lawyer to defend the victims’ cause. For now, they intend to file a complaint against this member of "Attanouir" with the Casablanca Prosecutor’s Office.
