Moroccan national team: a performance analysis expert joins Mohamed Ouahbi
Born in Rabat in 1990, Ismaïl Taoussi has a solid academic background. After obtaining his baccalaureate at Lycée Descartes in 2008, he pursued his higher education in Canada, where he received a specialized training in sports science and performance analysis. This academic background allows him to bring highly specialized technological expertise to the technical staff of the national team, reports Rue20.
Before joining the Atlas Lions, Taoussi forged his experience within the Ittihad de Tanger, and then within the federal system. He notably collaborated with Mohamed Ouahbi with the under-20s before joining the women’s national team under the leadership of the Spaniard Jorge Vilda. These successive missions, complemented by experience in teaching, have consolidated his skills in the statistical monitoring of athletes.
This appointment also marks a family continuity at the top of Moroccan football. Ismaïl is the son of Rachid Taoussi, former national team coach. While the father distinguished himself through his technical leadership on the bench, the son extends this presence through data analysis, a field that has become essential for evaluating the state of preparation and the real value of players.
The arrival of this new profile is part of Mohamed Ouahbi’s desire to further professionalize the technical staff. The analyst will be tasked with dissecting individual and collective performances to refine tactical choices. This step is considered crucial to strengthen the competitiveness of the Moroccan national team in the face of the international challenges to come.
