Moroccan Murder Case Expands as Second Victim's Remains Discovered

In Ben Ahmed, the investigation into the homicide of a man in his fifties has taken a new turn. The presentation of the suspect to the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal in Settat, initially scheduled for this Wednesday, has been postponed following the discovery of additional human remains.

DNA analyses have revealed that some of these remains do not correspond to the first victim, strongly suggesting the existence of a second victim. Investigations have been actively ongoing since then, involving police, technical and scientific units, and a canine team specially brought in from Rabat. Human fragments have been found in several locations: sanitary facilities of a mosque, fields near a school, and at the suspect’s home.

These discoveries, along with a missing person report filed by a woman and a list of names allegedly established by the suspect, have prompted investigators to broaden their search. They are now contacting families of missing persons to try to identify this possible second victim and clarify the case of the "mixed human flesh masses."

The interrogation of the suspect in custody is made difficult by his contradictions and erratic behavior, alternating between silence and outbursts. Known for his impulsiveness, past threats, and having been directed towards psychiatric care, he was responsible for supplying water to the mosque’s sanitary facilities where part of the remains was discovered. Investigators are racing against time to obtain usable confessions and locate all body parts. The affected sanitary facilities remain sealed.
