Moroccan Mountain Village Students Shine at Arab Robotics Championship

The Moroccan High Atlas Club distinguished itself at the 13th Arab Robotics Championship, organized in Egypt, by winning two prizes.
The event took place in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt and saw the participation of 120 teams, including four from Morocco. Among them, the High Atlas Club which won third place in the Robot Game category and first place in the Motivation Award category.
It is a group of about ten primary school students, aged 11 to 13, who come from Tasguint, a small isolated village in the Taroudant region in the High Atlas mountains.
These young prodigies owe their participation in the championship to the STEM Equity Community Innovation Grant scholarship offered by the First Lego League Morocco, a program that aims to engage children in the field of science and technology.
The team, coordinated by Ayoub Chouiref, a teacher of the Al Mandhar Al Jamil groups, overcame several difficulties during this competition, including poor internet connection, poor reception in the region and the lack of means of transport to attend events and competitions.
