Moroccan Minister Slams Oil Companies for ’Massacring’ Consumers with High Fuel Prices

Moroccan fuel retailers seem to do whatever they want without anyone being able to stop them. Minister Lahcen Daoudi says these oil companies have taken advantage of the opportunity and "have massacred the Moroccans".
The Moroccan Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of General Affairs and Governance, Lahcen Daoudi, continues his crusade against petroleum product distributors. According to his remarks, we can understand that the competition between them, although not apparent, does indeed exist, which means that they cannot be accused of much.
These companies would have increased their profit margin while preserving the semblance of competition. According to the Minister, quoted by Alyaoum24: "They found the opportunity, and everyone has driven up prices. They found the juicy loophole, and have massacred the Moroccans." The minister, however, points out that increasing the profit margin does not mean absence of competition. And that sums up the strategy. An agreement between competitors, in short... Compete with each other, but on another accepted profit margin.
To illustrate the prevailing anarchy, the Minister cites the example of a Rabat gas station that raised the price of its products by one dirham, without the slightest notice. Daoudi says in this regard: "When we asked them for explanations, they replied that their customers are rich and do not care about fuel prices."
