Moroccan Minister’s Divorce Finalized Following Paris Scandal

The Salé court has just pronounced the divorce of the Minister of Employment and Professional Integration Mohamed Yatim, at the heart of a scandal a few months ago after his appearance hand in hand with his fiancée in Paris.
The divorce was pronounced yesterday, Wednesday, reports the Hespress website, specifying that he will have to pay around 300,000 dirhams to his ex-wife as compensation.
In a video posted on social media last September, the minister from the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) was seen in the company of a woman not far from the Champs Elysées in Paris.
After denying it, Yatim had finally acknowledged and stated that he was with his fiancée and that he had, he said, initiated divorce proceedings with his wife with whom he had been in conflict for several years.
The young woman is a physiotherapist who provided home care after a leg fracture just after Ramadan. At the time, the minister had categorically denied wanting to marry a second wife and declared "that if that were the case, he would have taken responsibility for announcing it publicly."
