Moroccan Military Leader Colonel-Major Cherif Dlimi Dies from COVID-19

Colonel-Major of the Royal Armed Forces, Cherif Dlimi, passed away on Sunday morning in Rabat, following a Coronavirus infection. The deceased was buried in his hometown of Dakhla.
First governor of the province of Oued Eddahab, Colonel Major Cherif Brahim Dlimi had participated in the liberation of the southern provinces, and took part in several battles against the Polisario Front.
Cherif Dlimi had two children, El Gheilani Dlimi, former Moroccan ambassador to Bulgaria, and currently Wali seconded to the Ministry of the Interior, and Hayat Dlimi, the first woman deputy from the southern provinces.
In 2015, the deceased had been decorated with the Royal Wissam by King Mohammed VI. For health reasons, the wissam had been presented to his son, El Gheilani Dlimi.
