Moroccan Military Helicopter Crash Kills 2, Injures 1 in Sahara Region

The crash of a helicopter (of the Bell type) of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces that occurred yesterday, Friday, in the Tichla region, has killed two people and seriously injured one.
This tragedy occurred in the early afternoon this Friday, April 26, in the Tichla region, which is located in the far south of the Moroccan Sahara. The two people who died are a pilot officer and a mechanic non-commissioned officer. As for the co-pilot, he was seriously injured.
The helicopter was only carrying out a routine mission, according to the MAP, which cites a military source. And an investigation has been launched to shed light on the reasons for this crash.
Alyaoum24 reports other information, specifying that one of the deceased persons is a colonel and that the helicopter is a Bell Ab 205. The injured person would have, according to the same source, been taken to the military hospital in Dakhla.
The FAR experienced the crash of a Mirage F-1 fighter plane near Taounat last January. Luckily, the pilot managed to eject in time. This accident occurred in an uninhabited area and caused no material damage, the Moroccan army said in a statement.
