Moroccan Military Court Jails Two Colonels for Illegal Private Practice

The Correctional Chamber at the Military Court of Rabat sentenced two military doctors with the rank of Colonel to one year in prison and the withdrawal of the right to a pension. They were arrested in flagrante delicto of practicing outside the military institution.
According to the daily Assabah, the two doctors had been the subject of several absenteeism reports from their hierarchical superiors, who had issued them warnings for illegal practice in private establishments.
Despite the formal notices, the two colonels had persisted in violating the internal regulations of the military institution, by abandoning their post to intervene in private clinics.
It should be recalled that the illegal practice of medicine, by doctors and nurses graduated from military schools, outside military hospital facilities, is heavily punishable by the military institution.
