Moroccan Migrants Swim Undetected into Spanish Enclave of Ceuta

Two Moroccans successfully reached Ceuta clandestinely by swimming on Monday.
The two young migrants swam the short distance separating the Moroccan coast from the Spanish coast and managed to reach the beach closest to the Tarajal border crossing without being seen by the authorities, according to police sources reported to EFE.
The Moroccans, who were wearing wetsuits, will be placed in mandatory quarantine, in accordance with the current health protocol, before being transferred to the Tarajal warehouses.
Since the borders were closed, many young Moroccans have tried to reach Ceuta by swimming, at the risk of their lives. Most perish or disappear at sea. Similarly, hundreds of minors, who arrived en masse last May, continue to stay in reception centers or wander the streets in Ceuta.
