Moroccan Migrants Face Dire Conditions in Libyan Detention Camp, British Reporter Reveals

A visit to a migrant camp in Tripoli allowed a journalist from the British magazine The Observer to note the deplorable conditions of detention of illegal migrants, including Moroccans.
"Welcome to hell!". This is how the reporter was greeted at the Libyan detention camp by a Moroccan migrant. Thousands of undocumented immigrants, sick and left to their own devices, are penned up in this place in the absence of medical care.
The camp, like many other centers in the city, does not offer decent living conditions for refugees. Some of them are persecuted by Libyan militias, who kidnap them at night, demanding ransoms from their relatives and families.
The journalist states that the Libyan capital is overrun by detainees who prefer to spend their nights outside, despite the climate of insecurity prevailing in the country, following the internal conflicts between the Government and the militias of Khalifa Haftar.
