Moroccan Migrants Face Abuse and Death in Greek Detention Centers

Many Moroccan illegal migrants are living in hell in Greece, the gateway to Europe. Some have died in detention due to the torture they suffered, while others have managed to escape.
Prison, torture, mistreatment, famine... Greece has become a nightmare country for Moroccan illegal migrants trying the European adventure. Turkey is their starting point. Arrived in Greece, many of them face this harsh reality.
Four Moroccans recount having suffered torture and lived in famine in Turkish prisons before managing to escape. Not all will have had this chance. One of their unfortunate companions, from Nador, succumbed to torture. In total, there are four deaths and dozens of injured.
By adopting this attitude, Greece and the European Union are thus settling their accounts with Turkey. The latter is accused of wanting to flood Europe with migrants by allowing them to pass through its territory. Despite the many reports from NGOs and migration observatories - in particular the Moroccans of the world section of the Democratic Labor Organization (ODT) - condemning the inhumane treatment inflicted on illegal migrants in Greek prisons, the European Union remains passive.
