Moroccan Man Faces Prison for Allegedly Robbing Injured Victim in Salou

The Tarragona prosecutor’s office has requested two years in prison against a Moroccan accused of depriving a wounded man he pretended to help in Salou of his belongings.
The facts date back to August 30, 2019 when the Moroccan, accompanied by other people, had found a wounded man on Carles Buigas street in Salou. The accused, pretending to help the victim, offered to accompany him to his home in Lleida. Once there, the accused took advantage of the victim’s physical incapacity to steal various objects and a computer valued at 1,014.30 euros.
The prosecution has asked the competent court to sentence the Moroccan, who has no criminal record, to two years in prison and to order his expulsion from Spanish territory after his conviction. It also asks the judge to ban the accused from entering Spain for a period of seven years and to impose a fine of 1,014.30 euros to be paid to the victim as compensation.
