Moroccan Man Faces Investigation for Illegally Moving Father’s Body for Hometown Burial

A man in his forties illegally transferred the body of his father from the morgue of the Fez Hospital Center to the cemetery of his hometown, Taliouine, where he buried him last Friday. A judicial investigation has been opened by the brigade of the Royal Gendarmerie.
The individual, in violation of the state of health emergency, decided to disregard the order to bury the deceased in Fez, issued by the city’s health office after the autopsy, and to respect his father’s will, who had expressed the desire to be buried in his hometown.
According to the daily Assabah, the man was released on bail, pending the determination of the details of this mysterious case and the identification of the people who may have helped the son to move the remains.
The investigation is still at a standstill, but according to the first elements, the individual must have taken difficult access paths to avoid being spotted. It remains to be seen whether other people are involved in the return of the remains and their transfer to Taliouine, adds the newspaper.
