Moroccan Man in Belgium Jailed for Brutal Domestic Violence and Attempted Rape

A Moroccan residing in Liège (Belgium) has been convicted for subjecting the mother of his son to scenes of violence for years.
Right thigh kick, one at the lumbar level, woman pulled by the hair, wrist elongation, punches to the face, wife dragged all the way to the sofa while continuing to hit her. Yusuf, a 54-year-old Liège resident of Moroccan origin, subjected the mother of his son to scenes of violence between December 2021 and January 2023. The origin of these scenes of violence was the refusal of his wife to have sexual intercourse with him, jealousy crises, an attempt by the woman to go to Morocco to marry another man. These acts of violence caused 5 days of incapacity for work.
According to the defendant, the fact of being married gives him the right to demand that his wife submit to sexual relations when he has decided to do so..., reports La Dernière Heure. In the eyes of the Liège Correctional Court, all the facts are established: Yusuf did indeed commit an attempted rape, an attack on sexual integrity and blows on the mother of his son between December 2021 and January 2023. The fifty-year-old is then sentenced to 30 months in prison with a 5-year probationary suspension.
