Moroccan Man Arrested for Spreading COVID-19 Misinformation on Social Media

A 62-year-old man was arrested by the judicial police elements of Fez, for his alleged involvement in the dissemination of false content. He would have discredited the institutions of the Kingdom by calling into question the measures put in place to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.
The defendant, on the basis of photomontages widely relayed on social networks, aimed to sow doubt and confusion in the minds of citizens, indicates the DGSN. A behavior that occurs in such a critical period where cases of contamination are multiplying, it is explained.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) specified that not only did the publications contain erroneous data, but they were also strewn with insults and offenses against the various institutions of Morocco.
Pending the determination of the reasons and circumstances in which the man was guilty of such acts, he was placed in custody, it is written.
