Moroccan Man Arrested for Impersonating Governor in Housing Fraud Scheme

A 53-year-old man who was posing as a governor to defraud citizens, including unemployed youth, was arrested on January 23 in Mehdia, near Kénitra.
The end of the maneuver for a fifty-year-old man who usurped the identity of a governor. In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the 53-year-old man was arrested while he was the subject of a national arrest warrant and is accused of usurping the identity of a senior official for the purposes of fraud.
The accused used his false identity to contact a woman to whom he announced the allocation of housing in Tamesna. She gave him an amount of 10,000 DH as connection fees for the new housing to the water and electricity networks, before discovering the deception, reports Al Akhbar.
The fifty-year-old man is also said to have defrauded unemployed youth to whom he promised recruitment in the civil service. Pending the determination of the other offenses and crimes he may have committed, the accused was placed in custody.
