Moroccan Left Coalition Slams Government's Support for Middle East Peace Plan

The PSU, CNI, PADS parties, gathered in a federation called FGD, expressed, during their Casablanca session, their discontent with the official position of the Moroccan government on the "Deal of the Century". The FGD condemns the behavior of the Executive, calling on it to reconsider its position.

The Democratic Left Federation (FGD), a left-wing coalition, describes this Moroccan position of publicizing its actions as "shameful", considering that it "reflects Morocco’s dependence and submission to external organizations, all of which is contrary to the feelings and orientations of the overwhelming majority of the sovereign people". The decision-making body of the FGD displayed this position during their sixth session in Casablanca, under the slogan "Full support for the Palestinian people to liberate their homeland and renounce the Deal of the Century", reports Hespress.

The joint decision-making body, on the internal level, also recalled "the official recognition of the failure of the development model", emphasizing "the continued pursuit by the State and the government of the same unpopular and undemocratic choices. According to the FGD, these are choices that "accentuate the structural crisis in which Moroccan society is evolving, with a deterioration of public services such as education, health, employment, transport".

The joint body also demanded "the release of detainees, in particular those of the Hirak of the Rif, the end of the setback of human rights". The FGD also expressed its "pride in establishing the social front as a framework for the union of democratic forces in difficulty".

At the international level, the Federation successively condemned "the continued brutal war in Yemen", "external interference in the affairs of the brotherly Libyan people". It displays its "support for the popular movements in Iraq, Lebanon and Algeria", specifies the same source.
