Moroccan Lawmakers Propose Extended Vacation Time for Civil Servants

Moroccan civil servants could see the number of annual leave days, set at 22 days, increase to 30 days. This, to allow them to fully enjoy their vacations.
Parliamentarians have just tabled a bill to amend Article 40 of the fundamental statute of the civil service in order to extend the annual leave of civil servants from 22 to 30 working days.
The text proposes in particular to increase the number of days of the Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha holidays to a full week, to avoid civil servants requesting exceptional authorizations from the Head of Government.
The proposal also recommends granting an additional 15 days of annual leave to civil servants aged 55 and over. It also provides for the implementation of measures in favor of women civil servants, particularly mothers.
