Moroccan Lawmaker Released on Bail, Faces Check Fraud Charges

The PJD deputy Samir Abdelmoula, arrested last Thursday in Tangier, will be presented next week before the prosecutor. Prosecuted on the basis of a national arrest warrant for issuing bad checks, he was released on bail.
The parliamentarian of the lamp party was released after several hours of questioning. But he will have to pay the amount of the bounced checks to the plaintiff, reports Al Akhbar. It is a foreign partner, with whom he was investing in several real estate and maritime transport projects.
A repeat offender, the judicial police of Tangier had arrested him following a complaint filed by the Office of Exchange for tax evasion. He had received, at the end of 2020, a fine of 15 million dirhams paid to customs. He was also prosecuted for the launch without necessary authorizations of several investment projects abroad.
