Moroccan Lawmaker Probes Fuel Quality Concerns at Total Gas Stations

A deputy from the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has just questioned the Minister of Energy Transition on the quality of fuel served at certain Moroccan service stations in recent weeks.
Is the fuel sold at the pump in recent days of good quality? The issue has been controversial since some motorists revealed they had problems with their vehicles after refueling at service stations in Casablanca.
The PAM deputy in the First Chamber, Najoua Kouskous, has just questioned the Minister of Energy Transition on the control of the quality of fuel sold at service stations. In a written question addressed to the minister, the parliamentarian points the finger at "Total stations" accused by some motorists "of having sold them poor quality fuel".
About ten citizens reportedly demonstrated in front of one of the stations of this company to denounce the poor quality of the fuel purchased, which would have caused mechanical damage to their vehicles, the deputy said in her written question, calling on the supervisory ministry to open an investigation on the subject.
Motorists have been complaining about the poor quality of fuel at the pump for almost four months now. Some claim to have spent between 5,000 and 60,000 dirhams to repair their vehicles after refueling at Total stations. The French company, for its part, invites the complainants to have their vehicles checked by a company expert in order to possibly receive compensation.
