Moroccan Lawmaker Fakes COVID to Evade Fraud Investigation

Involved in a case of forgery, forgery and use of forgery, the deputy elected under the banner of the Constitutional Union, Sghir Babour, pretended to be sick with Covid-19, in order to escape the investigators of the BNPJ.
Sghir Babour was elected only a few months ago, following the legislative elections of September 8 last. Respected and admired in his region, he was arrested on Sunday by the National Brigade of Judicial Police (BNPJ). He was the subject of an arrest warrant for his alleged involvement in a case of falsification of official documents, forgery and use of forgery, reports alyaoum24.
Before his arrest, the parliamentarian had long evaded the summons of the BNPJ. He brandished a medical certificate stating that he would be positive for Covid-19. But after verification, the certificate was a fake.
He is accused of having presented false financial guarantees in order to fraudulently obtain a bank loan of around 600,000 dirhams.
