Moroccan Lawmaker’s Egg Farm Hit by Major Theft, Worker Arrested

In Benguerir, a worker accused of stealing eggs was jailed after a complaint filed by his employer, MP Abdellatif Zaim.
MP Abdellatif Zaim (PAM), a major egg producer in the Benguerir region, filed a complaint against one of his workers whom he accuses of having stolen 16,000 eggs worth 10,000 DH, reports Al Akhbar. The accused was arrested by the police.
The accused would have stolen 3,000 eggs in a single time, according to a source close to the investigation. With his accomplice, he was transporting the stolen eggs in his car. His modus operandi consisted of passing through a hole he had dug under the factory fence every night to operate at a time when the solar-powered surveillance cameras stopped working. The defendant and his accomplice then sold the stolen eggs in the douars and weekly markets.
Referred to the competent public prosecutor’s office, which prosecuted him in a state of arrest for the constitution of a criminal gang, the accused was referred to the criminal chamber of the Court of Appeal of Marrakech where he was placed in pre-trial detention at the Oudaya prison.
