Moroccan King’s Qatar Visit Delayed Following Shoulder Surgery

The official visit of the King of Morocco to Qatar, initially scheduled for December 11, has been postponed. This cancellation follows a surgical intervention undergone by the Moroccan sovereign last Sunday in Rabat.
During a sports activity, King Mohammed VI fractured his left humerus, requiring an operation and immobilization of his shoulder for 45 days, followed by a period of rehabilitation.
Despite this unexpected event, the Moroccan authorities have confirmed their willingness to maintain this diplomatic visit to Qatar, according to sources on the Barlamane website.
Morocco and Qatar have maintained privileged cooperative relations for many years, particularly in the energy, investment and cultural sectors. Qatar is actively participating in the financing of major infrastructure projects in Morocco.
Qatar has also always expressed its support for Morocco on the international stage, particularly regarding the Sahara issue.
