Moroccan King Leads Swift COVID-19 Response, Colombian Media Reports

The Colombian newspaper, Primicia Dario, looked at the measures taken by Morocco in the fight against coronavirus. In an article, the newspaper concluded that King Mohammed VI gives priority to the health of citizens, given the colossal means deployed since the first case of contamination was detected in the country.
According to the newspaper, Mohammed VI oversees each measure taken to protect Moroccans in the fight against covid-19. "The Moroccan authorities have been aware of the need to make radical decisions and implement a series of drastic measures with surprising speed," wrote the Colombian daily, noting that Morocco has adopted "an effective response plan, closely followed by King Mohammed VI."
Primicia Diario also highlighted the suspension of international flights with several European countries or the closure of mosques and schools and universities. It welcomed the creation, on March 15, on the instructions of the King, of a special Fund dedicated to the management of the coronavirus pandemic, initially endowed with 10 billion dirhams.
The wave of solidarity that has swept the country, pushing individuals, businesses, banks and foundations to make contributions to grow this fund, did not escape the analysis of the daily. It also mentioned the interest that the international press such as the newspapers El Pais (Spain), New York Times (United States) and the British online newspaper Byline Times, have shown in the efforts made by Morocco, as part of the offensive against coronavirus.
The Colombian newspaper also noted that Morocco "has shown that it has the human and technical capabilities to cope with this pandemic and is seriously managing this situation, mobilizing all its forces; because the most urgent thing for the country is the health of its citizens."
