Moroccan King Acquires Two $2.2 Million Luxury Cars from Local Automaker

King Mohammed VI has purchased the two unique examples of the "Laraki Sahara", a high-end vehicle produced by the Moroccan company Laraki Automobiles SA. The unit price of the vehicles is $2.2 million.
Created in the late 1990s by Abdeslam Laraki, a Moroccan automotive designer and entrepreneur, Laraki Automobiles SA, based in Casablanca, is no less than European automakers. The Moroccan company produces luxury yachts and cars. Its first creation, the Fulgura, a sports car, was unveiled in 2002 at the Geneva Motor Show, reports La Razon. It is distinguished by its chassis, bodywork and mechanics. It has a Mercedes-Benz V8 engine with a power of 600 hp, coupled with an ultra-modern six-speed gearbox.
In 2005, Laraki presented the Borac, its second creation, at the Geneva Motor Show. Unlike the Fulgura, this vehicle has a 6.0-liter Mercedes-Benz V12 engine, without a turbocharger; which gives it an estimated power of 540 hp, a top speed of 310 km/h and the ability to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds. The Moroccan manufacturer has also created the Epitome, "a masterpiece on wheels," according to specialists. It was unveiled in 2013, at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2013 and is equipped with a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 V8 engine, with two turbochargers.
