Morocco won several distinctions, including two gold medals, at the International Geneva Invention Show held in Switzerland from April 10 to 14.

The International Geneva Invention Show is a major platform that brings together countries from all continents and encourages innovation in various fields. In total, 800 inventors from more than 40 countries took part in this year’s edition, during which Morocco was able to stand out and make its mark.

Out of the 1,000 inventions from fields such as electricity, IoT, energy, ICT, ecology, domestic sciences, the Moroccan ones did not fall short. This is thanks in particular to the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences (EMSI), which saw two of its laboratories win the gold medal as well as a dozen prizes from global federations: France, Russia, Romania, China, Thailand, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, the Maldives and Egypt.

As innovations, EMSI presented "SmarTraffic", a "decentralized system based on radio frequency identification and image processing". Capable of managing urban traffic in an optimal and intelligent way, this system also identifies emergency vehicles (VVIPs, firefighters, ambulances, police, etc.) and dynamically controls traffic lights. As for the second innovation, it is the "Smarty Factory 4.0" project, which is a "multi-interface, multi-protocol, multi-industry communication device enabling the acquisition of data in the form of bus frames and analog/digital inputs/outputs".

Dr. Kamal Daissaoui, President of the EMSI Group, praised "the determination and involvement of the SMARTilab and LPRI teams as well as the many strategies developed by the Moroccan School of Engineering Sciences, to promote invention and innovation in the kingdom.
