Moroccan Interior Ministry Dismisses District Chief Over Illegal Construction Scandal

The Ministry of the Interior has taken a radical decision concerning the head of the Khmiss Anjra district. Following several administrative investigations, he has been definitively dismissed from his duties.
Consistent sources indicate that these investigations have shown his involvement in cases of illegal construction and other breaches of the law.
He is notably accused of having turned a blind eye to urban planning offenses, allowing an anarchic situation to develop. This tolerance towards illegal activities has motivated firm sanctions against him. Initially, the governor of the province of Fahs Anjra had pronounced his suspension, pending the clarification of this case.
The file was then forwarded to the disciplinary council in Rabat. After examining the facts, the commission decided to pronounce the dismissal of the head of the district. He is transferred to the prefecture of Chtouka Aït Baha, where he will hold a position as a simple employee. The investigations also revealed irregularities in the management of the National Mutual Aid cards and a deficient management of certain sensitive files.
