Moroccan Interior Minister Laftit Returns to Duty After Heart Surgery

Abdelouafi Laftit, Moroccan Minister of the Interior, is back at his duties after several weeks of convalescence.
End of rumors about the upcoming entry into the Moroccan government of Khalid Safir, Mohamed Mhidia or the new Wali of Rabat, Mohamed Yacoubi.
The Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, has resumed his duties since the Council of Ministers on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, chaired by King Mohammed VI. He was next to Prime Minister Saâdeddine El Otmani.
He had been hospitalized in Paris in mid-April for heart surgery. Thus, Abdelouafi Laftit has benefited from six weeks of convalescence.
"Abdelouafi Laftit, who has been in Paris for 18 days, had to undergo coronary bypass surgery, our sources explain, stating that this type of operation is quite common," wrote the Moroccan news site le360.
Information on the Minister of the Interior’s state of health had been given during a cabinet meeting by Saâd Eddine El Othmani. It should be recalled that in case of unavailability, the management of Abdelouafi Laftit’s department is ensured by Noureddine Boutayeb, his delegate minister.
