Moroccan Industrial Giant DLM Seeks Recovery Amid Financial Crisis

Fallen into cessation of payments and at the heart of a judicial recovery plan since April 26 last, the industrialist Delattre Levivier Maroc (DLM) says it is optimistic and confident about its way out of the crisis.

The Commercial Court of Casablanca, which found that DLM has been in cessation of payments and under judicial safeguard since December 2019, has just announced the procedure for its recovery entrusted to the receiver Rachid Sebti. This legal procedure will result in a continuation, cessation or liquidation plan for the group.

Faced with this court decision, the group is expressing its optimism about seeing the situation normalize with the help of the government.

An employee in the company explains anonymously to Hespress that the manufacturer had been hoping for years for a solution to revive the company. "And we not only hoped for a favorable outcome from the Commercial Court, but also from the government," says this employee who has many years of experience at DLM.

He confides that discussions are underway with the Ministry of Industry to try to find a way to recover astronomical sums from large state groups, but acknowledges that this solution has not yet materialized. But this does not prevent this employee from continuing to fervently hope that these discussions will bear fruit.

"If nothing is done at the highest level, the company will close down and it will be the end for us. We sincerely hope that the company will get back on its feet and regain its former prestige," he says, recalling that DLM used to pamper its employees with general pay increases of up to 3,000 dirhams per employee following the signing of a protocol agreement with the HR Department.

Today, this leader in metal construction and assembly is facing, due to lack of orders, major cash flow difficulties, certain problems with foreign clients and the compromise of major contracts.
