Moroccan Immigrant’s Burial Request Sparks Controversy in Spanish Town

The Moroccans residing in the municipality of Rosas in Catalonia were surprised by the surprising will of a Moroccan national who asked to be buried in a Christian cemetery.
According to Spanish media, the Moroccan had reserved a burial plot, by acquiring a concession in the town’s cemetery, in order to install his tomb there.
Despite this request and immediately after the Muslim funeral ceremony, organized in the presence of several believers, the imam of a mosque in the city of Rosas, decided to bury the body in a Muslim cemetery.
Contested by many Moroccan nationals, for having acted against the will of the deceased, the imam’s decision was nevertheless welcomed by others.
