Moroccan Human Rights Minister Resigns Citing Health Concerns

Mustapha Ramid, Minister of State in charge of Human Rights and Relations with Parliament, presented his resignation to the Head of Government, Saâdeddine El Othmani, this Friday. He cites the reasons.
"Given my state of health and my inability to continue to assume the responsibilities entrusted to me, I present my resignation as a member of the government, in the hope of submitting it to King Mohammed VI," Mustapha Ramid explained in a letter addressed to the Head of Government.
It is now up to El Othmani to submit Mustapha Ramid’s resignation letter to the sovereign, who is empowered to terminate the functions of a member of the government or to refuse his resignation.
A source close to the resigning minister told Hespress that Ramid had undergone an operation that had led to the removal of one of his kidneys, which had had negative repercussions on his health, and had even kept him at home for weeks.
