Moroccan Highway Workers’ Unions Clash with Management over Labor Rights

The national company [Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM)] is in the sights of three unions affiliated with the UMT central union, who denounce the restriction of freedoms and union rights, and the non-compliance by the administration with the agreements signed with the government. They thus condemn "the hostile and provocative practices towards the social partners and the refusal to receive correspondence from unions and worker representatives".
The National Union of ADM Executives, the National Union of ADM Operations Center Employees, and the National Union of ADM Administrators, Technicians and Executives are the three organizations that are outraged by the treatment reserved for them. They also report the administration’s refusal to recognize the UMT as "the most representative union in the sector" following the final results of the professional elections, reports al3omk.com.
In a press release, the trade union organizations inform the public that the CEO of ADM, [Anouar Benazzouz] and the board of directors are responsible for the prevailing situation. They call on the authorities to intervene urgently to save the company from "thoughtless" management and to open "a thorough investigation into appointments tainted by favoritism and marginalization of talent, and on "the excessive use of contracts and purchase orders".
