Moroccan Highway Workers Plan Six-Day Strike, Toll Stations Affected

The Société Nationale des Autoroutes du Maroc (ADM) will be paralyzed starting this Friday. The National Union of Employees of Exploitation Centers has announced a six-day strike during which night sit-ins will be organized in all toll stations in the kingdom.
The strike will take place from August 16 to 18 and from August 23 to 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. It will be followed each day by a sit-in at the workplaces of the exploitation centers. Employees will continue to provide emergency response agent services.
The union is calling on the general management of the Moroccan Motorways to work for more social justice, to be more open to dialogue, and to respect the rights of employees in order to put an end to the discrimination and humiliation they are victims of. It calls for the establishment of commissions responsible for monitoring the resolution of demands and the implementation of the provisions of the social pact.
The union warns the general management against the continued violation of their fundamental rights, including the exercise of trade union rights, guaranteed by the constitution, national laws, and international conventions, reaffirming its determination to defend these rights by all legal means.
