Moroccan Government to Discuss Tax Reform and Public Enterprise Overhaul in Special Session

An exceptional government council will meet this Sunday under the chairmanship of Saâdeddine El Othmani. Two framework bills - one on tax reform and the other focused on the reform of public establishments and enterprises (EEP) - will be examined.
The council will then examine a bill supplementing the law on the prohibition of the development, manufacture, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons and on their destruction, according to a statement from the Department of the Head of Government.
Three draft decrees will also be examined. These are the draft on the exemption of the beneficiaries of the martyrs of the nation, the victims of military operations and the previously detained soldiers from land conservation rights and the costs of preparing the technical files completed in their favor, the draft concerning the application of the law relating to defense and security materials and equipment, weapons and ammunition, and finally the draft decree relating to the application of the provisions of the law relating to cybersecurity.
The council will also examine three conventions: the United Nations Convention on International Settlement Agreements Resulting from Mediation (adopted in New York on December 20, 2018), the African Youth Charter (adopted on July 2, 2006 in Gambia), and the African Union Convention on Cybersecurity and Personal Data Protection (adopted in Equatorial Guinea on June 27, 2014), as well as three draft laws approving the aforementioned conventions and charter.
